The Retail Manager is responsible for the duties involved with the operation of the tasting room. The Retail Manager is responsible for staffing and training the bar and bus services for the tasting room. This includes scheduling the staff work schedule, conducting interviews and making hiring/firing recommendations. The Retail Manager has the prerogative to install him/herself as bartender within the schedule as he/she sees fit. The Retail Manager is responsible for establishing opening and closing procedures for each workday.
The Retail Manager is responsible for assisting in the promotion of the tasting room. This includes recruiting and scheduling entertainment for the tasting room (like booking musicians) and assisting in social media announcements to promote Tasting Room activities.
The Retail Manager is responsible for communicating with Board Members on keg and merchandise inventory status during the course of each workday.
This position is eligible for 15 days of paid time off per calendar year and 5 paid US holidays per year. Position is based on 40 hour work week.
The Retail Manager position is paid by a base salary plus accrued tips from time working the bar.
1 year or more experience in bar or restaurant management required. Experience with point of sale training is a plus. Experience in the craft beer industry is a plus. Bonus points for Cicerone certification.
